David J. Wine is the Managing Partner of Oliver’s Realty Group, a New York based firm focused on residential development, investment and consultancy. David’s specialty, honed over three decades of experience, is the creation and lifestyle branding of best-in-class luxury residential properties across New York City, California and abroad.
One of David’s passions is breathing new life into historic Greenwich Village and West Village townhouses by re-imagining classic architecture into incredible homes that are tailored to modern lifestyles. Additionally, he is partnering with RAL Companies on constructing Pier 6 in the reinvigorated Brooklyn Bridge Park to develop two elegant residential towers which will offer a mix of luxury condominiums, market rate rental apartments, and affordable rental apartments connected with over 6,000 square feet of amenity space. This is a truly exciting addition to the local neighborhoods of Brooklyn Heights, Cobble Hill, Boerum Hill, Downtown Brooklyn and Carroll Gardens.
David’s expertise has been highly sought and he has consulted on several luxury residential projects throughout Manhattan including Vornado’s and Robert A.M. Stern’s 220 Central Park South; Morris Adjmi’s and Taconic Partners’ The Sterling Mason in TriBeCa; and HFZ Capital Group’s and Bjarke Ingels Group’s Chelsea 76 Eleventh Avenue residential/hotel development. In addition, Related requested David’s assistance and unique expertise as it pursued residential development in Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi.
Prior to forming Oliver’s, David served as the Vice Chairman of Related Companies, one of the country’s largest and most acclaimed real estate firms. During his over thirty year tenure, David was one of its top leaders as it emerged as a leading developer of luxury rental and condominium apartments in stand alone or in mixed-use properties. Skillfully guiding and overseeing the design, sale/leasing and marketing strategies for a portfolio of luxury rental and for-sale developments in excess of 25,000 units and which are valued at over $8 billion, David created and led the team that crafted Related’s major developments into widely admired and publicized individual real estate successes and positioned Related as a highly respected and sought-after national brand particularly known for its innovative and sophisticated approaches to design and brand concepts.
Some of the standout New York luxury projects that David directed include, to name a few, the iconic Residences at Time Warner Center; the Upper East Side’s The Chatham (which gave rise to “starchitecture” with the first of many collaborations with architect Robert A.M. Stern); West Chelsea’s The Caledonia; the West Village’s Superior Ink; the eponymous Astor Place; One Union Square South, home of “The Metronome” public art installation in Union Square; and 6 buildings in the Riverwalk neighborhood on revitalized Roosevelt Island. In California, David directed Century City’s super luxurious The Century Condominium and Santa Monica’s Ocean Avenue condominiums. In Boston’s historic Back Bay neighborhood, The Clarendon and One Back Bay redefined luxury living with lifestyle-oriented for sale/for rent hybrid development.
A committed leader, David lends his time and expertise to philanthropic and educational institutions and currently serves as a board member for the Public Art Fund and the New York Foundation for Senior Citizens. David is also a board member with Congregation Beth Simchat Torah, having proudly led the planning and development of CBST’s newly constructed synagogue and community center.
